Sugarloaf now uses RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) gates at key lifts across the resort. This touch-free system means paper tickets are a thing of the past- you’ll simply have one Go Card that you can reload with day tickets throughout the season, or use your RFID-enabled 2021/22 Season Pass or Ikon Pass.

What happened to the gondola at Sugarloaf?
Before it was taken down in 1997, the bottom was cannibalized to provide parts for the upper half. But long after the gondola lift was dismantled, its legend lives on in Carrabassett Valley. Cars were auctioned off to raise money for the mountain and they scattered, landing in lawns and fields.

Where do you park to climb Sugarloaf?
The stand-alone position of this peak means that the views from the summit are truly panoramic. PARKING: From Abergavenny town centre, follow the A40 towards Brecon. 600m beyond Neville Hall Hospital, and just before the Lamb & Flag public house, turn right onto a narrow lane signposted to the Sugar Loaf Vineyard.
