In 1957 Farmer Tanaka was born in Fountain Valley. Farmer Tanaka is a Sansei, a third generation Japanese American. From 1977 to the 1990s Farmer Tanaka grows wholesale tomatoes and strawberries. He even gets up to 300 acres and also starts his own packing and distribution across the country!

Tanaka Farms’ mission is that families come away from a visit to the farm with a new found appreciation for food. My sister has been at a loss as to what to feed her daughter because she can’t have this and she can’t have that or she will have severe stomach cramps. She and her family had never heard of a yellow watermelon.
