What does the Skim-A-Round do?

Does Skim-A-Round work for above ground pools?
Can I use Skim-A-Round in my above ground pool? Yes. Skim-A-Round “Original” “As Vac Attachment” & “Ultimate” can be plugged directly into any 1.5 inch or 2 inch suction line or attached to any suction-powered vacuum.
Can you use skimmer socks with Skim-A-Round?
Skim-A-Round comes with a standard full size basket which eliminates leaves grass, bugs etc. Attach the skimmer sock, and now the basket will eliminate pollen, sand and other unwanted fine debris, so they don’t go through to your filter system.
Does skim doctor work?
Yes, It does increase suction power but it doesn’t increase flow to the filter or the return lines, as everyone would expect under Bernoulli’s principle. Yes, It does pull floating debris from larger distances, and reduces the need of skimming manually with a net.
Why does my skimmer basket float?
Look for excessive air in the pump or a lot of air in the filter when you open the air bleed at the top. As for the basket floating, just use a rock to keep it down. The ‘flying saucer’ is to protect your plumbing in case your water level gets too low.
What PSI should my pool filter be at?
On average, a pool filter cartridge’s pressure reading, in PSI on the filter gauge, should read between 8 – 15 PSI. If you are experiencing an 8-10 PSI increase in pressure, somewhere up around 25-30 PSI or higher, this means that it is time for you to clean your filter!
Why does skimmer have two holes?
The skimmer sits at the waterline and catches leaves, bugs and trash so they do not clog the filter. Skimmers with a second hole help keep the pump from running dry if the water level is unstable.
Is the skim a round all in one a good product?
Skim a Round “All In One” is one universal waste of money. I bought two of these “revolutionary” and “universal fit” skimmer basket replacements for our inground pool skimmers last summer. They did NOT fit because NONE of the trim rings fit my Kafko skimmers.

The second model of skim-a-round you can get out there is the “As Vac Attachment” model that connects to your present suction-powered floor vac. Once you attach it, it moves around your swimming pool to clean the pool surface. It also comes with a full-size skimmer basket that collects all the debris – no debris can get out.
