Can you still play Evolve on Xbox?
In October 2016, Turtle Rock announced that they would end support for Evolve, and that Evolve: Stage 2 would not be released for consoles, but servers for the game will remain online for ‘foreseeable future’.
What happened to Evolve on Xbox?
The dedicated servers for Evolve close down on Sept. 3, 2018. That means the ranked mode of play, Hunt, is no longer available, nor are the leaderboards or the in-game store. The modes that will still be available are: Hunt, Nest, Rescue, Defend and Arena, through Quick Play, Evacuation, and any custom games.
Why did Evolve shut down?
Legacy Evolve features a Quick Play playlist which, minus ranked play, contains all game modes including custom and Evacuation modes. Solo play alongside and against AI will also be available. Evolve is a primary example of DLC done wrong, which will always be the primary reason for its downfall.

Evolve failed because 4v1 didn’t work, pricing, and more says lead writer. The Evolve servers will finally be shutting down this September and the game has not had an easy ride since its launch in 2015. With players controlling everything in the game balancing also became a real issue.

What happened evolve 2?
On 2nd July 2018, Stage 2, the free-to-download version of the game, will no longer be available on PC. However, you’ll still be able to play Evolve online via the peer-to-peer multiplayer in Legacy Evolve on PC and console. All players retain the DLC they bought, too. You can also party-up to create games.
