We accept pretty much any hair, it just needs to be at least 25cm long and not bleached, knotted or damaged. Reducing poverty is a complex issue but research points to one simple thing as having lasting transformational effects on communities: giving people jobs.

The hair we use must:
- Be uncoloured, undyed and not permed or hennaed. It must not have been processed in any way.
- Be longer than 14 inches (35.5 cm) long.
- Not have been dropped on the floor after cutting (When cutting tie it in a ponytail with all the hair pointing in the same direction.)
Can you donate dyed hair NZ?
Chemically processed or coloured hair. Curly hair ponytails are accepted, but must meet the minimum 20cm length without being straightened.
How do I shave my head to donate hair?
Hair that has been shaved off can not be used. If you are shaving your head, first divide it into multiple ponytails and cut it off for donation. Hair cut years ago is usable if it has been stored in a ponytail or braid. Dreadlocks, wigs, hairpieces, hair extensions and synthetic hair can not be donated.
