Who makes graduate admission decisions?
Most programs have an admissions committee (often also referred to as a selection committee) consisting of a few faculty members who meet each year after the application deadline to pore over the pile of applications. Most programs also have a Graduate Program Director, who is also on the admissions committee.
How are grad school applications reviewed?
Depending on the size of the program and applicant pool the resulting set of applicants is reviewed by a larger set of faculty, or interviewed, or accepted (some programs do not conduct interviews).
Do you need a 4.0 to get into MIT grad school?
For consideration at MIT, transfers should hold a minimum cumulative collegiate GPA of 3.5. At the graduate level, applicants must be finishing or have graduated with a four-year bachelor’s degree or higher.
