How do I connect my Hills home hub to NBN?
The ethernet cable from NBN fibre modem (top right) should plug into the router (middle left). Two (green) ethernet cables should then go from the router (middle left) up to the Hills patch panel’s (Top left ii) two ports. At your x2 room ethernet ports (assume one upstairs and one downstairs), plug in your switch.

If you are talking about the modem/router, then there is no problem turning it off overnight (you just won’t have access to the internet or landline phone while the modem is off). If you are talking about the NBN NTD (if you are on FTTP), then it is not recommended to turn it off and on on a regular basis.
