Do you need the convEGGtor?
It is an absolute necessity for the proper and complete performance of your Egg. Without it all you can do is grill on direct heat. You can’t smoke, bake, or do anything else that requires indirect heat. If you don’t have it, forget smoking those pork butts, cooking that turkey for Thanksgiving, etc.

Put the Daisy wheel on but leave it fully open. When the egg comes up to 200 degrees close the Daisy wheel to barely open and the bottom vent to open about 1/4″. It should continue to rise to around 215/220. If all goes well it should park around 225.

Does convEGGtor need pizza stone?
typically the conveggtor (aka plate setter) is used for indirect cooking – including pizza. you would normally do conv legs up, grate, pizza stone because if you do pizza at >500 dome, the platesetter will be way too hot and will just char the pizza and you will be able to use the result as fuel in your next cook.
Does a Big Green Egg need to be seasoned?
