Where to get help cutting oil on Inco 718?
Call the Kennametal tech helpline. the guys there are tech people not salesman like your typical rep. I always had better luck that way. Also on Inco 718 cutting oil doesn’t work unless you go super slow. You need to pull the heat away so you need water based coolant.
Which is better Inconel 9605 or Walter wsm20?
The 9605 seems better in the heat-treated, the Walter WSM20 seems better in the softer tempers. I run around 130sfm and get acceptable life out them, but it’s never like “easy” materials such as Chinese 304SS. If you have the choice buy mat’l certed to AMS-5662 if you need harder mat’l heat treat after machining.
