Is vision insurance different from health insurance?
A Vision insurance policy is different from your health insurance policy. Vision plans do not cover any part of an eye exam considered “medical”. For example, vision insurance will not cover vision loss, floaters, dry eyes, allergies, infections, eye disease, or eye exams for complication from diabetes.

What do you need to know about the MES vision plan?
The MES vision plans are voluntary coverage. Premiums are deducted from employee pay warrants on a pre-tax basis. The premiums are: MES Vision Plan 1 – covers both Eye Exam and Eyewear; or. MES Vision Plan 2 – covers only Eyewear. Choose this plan if your medical plan covers your exam and you only want coverage for hardware.
