Do I need to season my Z grill?
Before your first cook in your new Z Grills, you will need to season the grill to burn off any manufacturing oils on the grease tray and heat baffle.

Do Z Grills Sear?
Yes, you can. Searing occurs in the area of meat that touches the hot grate where the temperature is between 350-500 °F. So it’s easy to achieve a perfect sear with Z Grills (temperature range between 180-450 °F). Above this temperature the fire will burn hotter and cleaner with less smoke.
Can a pellet grill catch on fire?
The great thing about pellet grills/smokers is that they are very safe. They ignite the fire for you, do not require the use of any accelerants to get the fire started, the fuel used is inert and cannot ignite on its own and the area where the fire burns is typically shielded from the cooking area.
How long do Z grills last?
The wood grill pellets used in Z Grills burn at about 2.2 pounds per hour at high temperatures (more than 356 degrees) and 0.66 to 0.88 pounds per hour when cooking low and slow (Smoke setting or 225 degrees). A 22-pound bag of pellets can last anywhere from 10 to 25 hours depending on temperatures and conditions.
