Which AirDog should I get?
AirDog ® and AirDog ® II 100 units are recommended for up to 500 horsepower. AirDog ® 150 and AirDog ® II 165 units are recommended for horsepower up to 1000. AirDog ® II 200 units are recommended for anything that exceeds 1000 horsepower.
Is AirDog better than Fass?
Both will get the job done and both will work with you to provide the best product. Hunter’s take: I prefer the Airdog slightly over the Fass on the Duramax trucks because of the better mounting system and the motor design. Filters can be changed out as both have cross filter reference guides.
How much HP can an AirDog 165 support?

Can you have too big of a lift pump?
No it will not hurt the pump. But it could cause you headaches down the road. Running way too much fuel to an injection pump that can’t handle it can cause an increase in fuel pressure, which on some trucks could cause damage to that injection pump and possibly cause it to fail.
Do lift pumps add horsepower?

The AirDog® Fuel Preporator® removes various contaminates, including entrained air/vapor, particulates and moisture, and removes excess fuel not needed by engines, allowing the fuel to flow through the regulator and return to the fuel tank.
Are diesel lift pumps worth it?
Anytime you plan to pursue more power than what your truck made in stock form, a lift pump is a good idea. Because the injection pump and injectors are arguably the most vital components in a diesel engine, keeping them supplied with plenty of fuel keeps them cool, lubricated and functioning properly.
Do I really need a lift pump on my Duramax?
The GMC and Chevy Duramax pick-up trucks do NOT have a lift pump to supply fuel to the engine. From the factory, the CP3 injection pump is the truck’s only means of getting fuel from the tank to the engine. For example; The AirDog II, FP100 and Raptor pump kits do not require you to drop the tank to install the system.
