Why was BMX so popular in the UK?
The popularity of the sport has increased due to its relative ease and availability of places to ride and do tricks. In the UK, BMX was a craze which took off in the early 1980s, specifically 1982/3, when it became the “must have” bicycle for children and teenagers.
How many points do you get in a BMX race?
For 2021: We count a maximum of a riders best eight (8) national scores, plus the Grand Nationals to determine a rider’s overall ranking. A rider must have a minimum of four (4) national scores to earn a NAG plate. 10 Bonus Points are credited for each single point race run by October 1 – 80 points max (or 8 single point races).
