When did the Protaper Evo handlebar come out?
The EVO Handlebar is ProTaper’s flagship unbraced handlebar. Oversized-diameter handlebars without crossbars were invented and patented by ProTaper in 1991. Without sacrificing strength, this design yields increased flex and impact absorption over conventional handlebars, offering the rider improved comfort and reduced fatigue.
Which is better a pro taper or an oversize bar?
They actually dampen vibration better than any oversize bar. The 971’s are also the perfect size and sweep for the average height rider. If the 971’s aren’t bent, I would put them back on and sell the Protapers. When trying to find a bend you like buy cheap bars then get the Pro Tapers once you know what you want.
Which is better Evo adventure or EVO high bend?
With its premium 7000 series aluminum alloy construction and computer-profiled four millimeter-thick wall design, the EVO Adventure Handlebar is up to 25% lighter and 45% stronger than competing handlebars. Adventure High Bend: BMW, Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki
Which is better Windham or Henry or reed taper bars?
Windham has less pull back and feels a little taller than Henry/Reed. Depending on what bike, riding style, triple clamps, arm length, and your height, the bar you like will vary. Go into a shop and hold them in your hands and get a feel for what you like, or buy stock bars.
Which is the best taper bar to use?
The most commonly used bends, at least at my shop, are Windham, Henry/Reed, and RC High. The RC high bars are sort of an intermediate height and fairly straight. They feel very comfortable for riders of average height. Windham and Henry/Reed are both a tall in comparison to stock.
Which is better the Henry Reed or the RC High?
The RC High is a little lower than the henry/reed but I like the sweep. The Henry/Reed is the perfect height for me so I can live with the extra sweep. If you go with the RC High, get the Renthal version. The PT version is really low and you probably won’t like them.
