What do you need for Upper Blackrock Spire?
You need atleast two Warriors, one Priest, two additional healers (Priests/Druids/Shamans/Paladins), two DPS (Rogues/Hunters), and two Warlocks/Mages. The last spot can be whatever. Without at least two healers and two tanks you will have an extremely hard time progressing through UBRS.

How long does Upper Blackrock Spire take?
In total, UBRS will take about two hours to complete. With better equipment and a knowledgeable group you can get through it much faster. Like the 40-man raids, UBRS concentrates mostly on boss fights having a sparse amount of trash (compared to other instances) between bosses.
Is Upper Blackrock Spire a raid?
Patch 1.10 capped UBRS at 10 people (and all other dungeons at 5). During the Cataclysm revamp, UBRS finally gave up its “raid but not a raid” status and became a 5-man dungeon. Of course, by then, you didn’t need to attune for Onyxia’s Lair.

The Key to UBRS is not a key it’s a Ring. Approach UBRS door and it will just open for you. Seal drops from about any mob easy to get, you can only carry one.

How to survive the waves in Blackrock Spire?
The key to surviving the waves is to not break eggs and to kill Rookery Hatcher s since they will break eggs themselves. Besides that, just kill the enemies as they come, making sure to AoE the weaker whelplings if they spawn. After making it through the waves, Solakar Flamewreath will spawn.
