Students with a passion for problem-solving who are in grade 8 or below and under 14.5 years of age on the day of the competition are eligible to participate in the AMC 8.

For those who do not know, the American Mathematics Contest 8 (AMC 8) is a math competition designed for students in grade 8 and below. The main purpose of the AMC 8 is to promote the beauty of math and get kids excited about the subject.
What is an AMC score?
The AMC 12 is a 25 question, 75 minute multiple choice test. The AMC 12 is scored in a way that penalizes guessing. Correct answers are worth 6 points, incorrect answers are worth 0 points, and unanswered questions are worth 1.5 points, to give a total score out of 150 points.
