What is Oyumaru made of?
OYUMARU is the heat softened (more than 80℃) molding material made from rubber.
Can you use mold putty for resin?
Both brands of mold putty claim that they can be used with chocolate, food, wax, soap, polymer clay, ice, and even resin. But once used with food, don’t put other things in the mold.

Can you polish resin with toothpaste?
Using the sponge pad of your polish machine, polish the epoxy with the toothpaste. Make sure that you don’t apply too much pressure or the epoxy might burn. Let the pad gently touch the epoxy while spinning. When you run out of toothpaste, apply it again and spray it with some water!
How do you fix dull resin?
To warm up resin, place the bottles of pre-mixed resin into warm water and let the resin warm up a tad before mixing. Do not heat it. If the resin has been sanded down, the finish will appear dull and scratched. Use lighter and lighter grit sandpaper until the finish is very smooth.
Can you reuse mold putty?

How long does mold putty last?

Can you reuse blue stuff?
The mold is reusable, the material doesn’t stick, so it’s a must for any modeller. Of course, we don’t want you to use Blue Stuff for copying and selling original models.
What can oyumaru be used for in a mold?
No mold release is needed, and because Oyumaru is naturally glossy, resin comes out with a perfect shine. It makes excellent molds for casting epoxy resin. For example, you could use Oyumaru to make a mold from a bangle bracelet, then cast resin into that mold.
How big is a bar of oyumaru?
Oyumaru comes in bars about ¼” (4mm) thick, and you can cut them with scissors if you need less than a full bar. Put the Oyumaru into hot water and wait a few minutes for it to soften. It will become slightly more transparent as it melts.
Is the oyumaru molding material bendy or flexible?
Oyumaru feels slightly slippery and naturally has a shiny surface. The plastic is soft enough that you can dent (and cut) it with your fingernail. While flexible to an extent, it’s not bendy like silicone molds.
Do you put oyumaru in hot water or cold water?
Essentially, you put Oyumaru in hot water until it melts, take it out with a fork (or chopsticks for fun), then shape it in your hands. The package says to use 80°C (176°F) water, but I found that it cools down pretty rapidly and so I didn’t have any trouble just using hot water from a kettle.
