Lightweight Compact Pistol
The LCP, which stands for “Lightweight Compact Pistol”, was designed in direct response to customer requests for a compact firearm for use by police as a back-up, and a defensive handgun for civilian concealed carry needs. In 2013, a seven-round extended magazine was released for the LCP.

What is the difference between the Ruger LCP and the Ruger LCP 2?
The LCP II is a touch wider and a touch taller but it’s not likely you’ll notice that difference, in my opinion. Both pistols provide just enough to grip – at least for someone with average sized hands.

Is the Ruger LCP 2 single or double action?
Rather than a long, double-action-type trigger, the LCP II uses a single-action trigger with a center safety lever in the pattern of the Glock pistol series — and I like it as well. There is quite a bit of takeup required before the actual pull begins — nearly a half inch.
Does Ruger LCP have hammer block?
Reset and pull weight are improved and a pivoting trigger block (think Glock) were added for safety. From a safety standpoint, the LCP II lacks any type of passive firing pin safety. The pistol’s hammer and sear engagement is very robust when fully cocked, negating the need for an internal firing pin block.

Is the Ruger 380 LCP a good gun?
The Ruger LCP II is a fantastic option for people looking for an easily concealed . 380 ACP pistol. It is surprisingly accurate, considering its size, and plenty reliable for self-defense. I’m absolutely confident in this guns ability to put rounds where they need to go in a defensive situation.
