Can you record on BT TV?
To record the programme you’re currently watching, press the record [R] button on your remote control. You can also set a recording now, or in the future, within the TV guide. You can also record remotely by downloading our BT TV App and pairing it with your TV box.
Can you record on YouView?
YouView makes it easy to record your favourite programmes. To record the programme you’re currently watching, press on the remote control. You can also set a recording now or in the future within the Guide, Mini Guide or the Information Panel (as shown in the pictures on the right).
Can I record BT Sport Extra 1?
Simply press the ‘Record’ button on your remote when watching a red button programme. You can also schedule recordings of BT Sport red button programmes from your Channel Guide, as well as record a BT Sport red button event whilst watching another BT Sport broadcast.
Why can’t I record on my YouView box?
Make sure your box is switched on when a recording is in process. You can keep it in stand-by mode and it will still record. Try not to retune your channels when you have a recording in progress either. Make sure you have enough space on your box.
Can you get recordings off a YouView box?
Re: Transfer recordings from old to new Youview box. The boxes are designed not to allow you to transfer the recordings off to another device. The only option is to record the analogue signal off the SCART socket as suggested above.
Can you record on BT YouView box without subscription?
However, in a surprise twist, the TV platform developer has today confirmed that BT will be “opening up” the remote record functionality within their own app for all YouView users to use (no subscription required).
Why is my BT YouView box not recording?
Check your equipment cabling is connected securely. Make sure you don’t switch off your BT TV box or BT Hub when you have a scheduled recording. Check any series recordings have been set up correctly, by going to the ‘Scheduled’ section of ‘My TV’

Can BT Sport be recorded?
Unfortunately, you can’t record programmes on the BT Sport App. However, the Apple and Android versions of the app contain On Demand catch-up of some programmes that you may have missed.
Is BT Sport extra free?
The service has been named BT Sport Extra. BT Sport channels are free on the latter service for customers with Virgin Media’s TV XL package. Sky and Virgin Media customers just need to press the red button on their remotes when on BT Sport channels or switch to channel 527 on BT TV.
