This combination medication is used to help relieve mild to moderate pain. It contains an opioid pain reliever (codeine) and a non-opioid pain reliever (acetaminophen). Codeine works in the brain to change how your body feels and responds to pain. Acetaminophen can also reduce a fever.
How many codeine pills can you take at once?
Dosage. The usual dose of codeine is 15mg to 60mg. The usual dose for treating pain: adults usually take one or two 30mg tablets every 4 hours, up to a maximum of 8 tablets (240mg) in 24 hours.
